O, Lord of earth and Heaven above,

O, Ruler of all history –

reveal to me your will of love,

and show me WHAT YOU WANT FOR ME!

I may not be a giant tall

or very influential be –

but I am willing to be small

if that is WHAT YOU WANT FOR ME!

I may not sit upon a throne

and shape the world by my decree –

what if I live unseen, unknown?…

if that is WHAT YOU WANT FOR ME!

I may not lay a lot in store

or have an earthly treasury –

but, like my Savior, I’ll be poor

if that is WHAT YOU WANT FOR ME!

There is a work for me to do –

there is a place for me to be…

and so, until my life is through,

just show me WHAT YOU WANT FOR ME!
